CROSS-LAMINATED TIMBER
COMPONENT
Unique cross-laminated timber with smooth and simple surfaces.
Cross-laminated timber is the base of the LOC component. Crosswise layering and gluing of at least three thick layers of panels creates a large-format, strong, and versatile sheet material. This is the base for walls and ceilings in modern solid timber construction – tested and certified.
Our components are the logical next step towards a high level of prefabrication, leading to increased efficiency. Our highly precise CNC systems shape, drill, mill, and join timber to create our components. This way, we create ready-to-assemble components for the construction kit of the future.
Efficiency has never looked better!
CLT is short for cross-laminated timber. CLT components are solid, load-bearing components that are glued together in three layers or more. Each layer is oriented in alternating directions to its adjacent layers. This layer-by-layer process enables the installation of soundproof or fireproof, as well as decorative layers. Among other terms, it is also known as BSP (German: Brettsperrholz).
Cross-laminated timber particularly qualifies for multi-storied residential and administrative buildings. It is load-bearing and has excellent characteristics regarding building physics and fire safety. Therefore, it is ideal for modular construction.
The material has a high mechanical resistance and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. This means that timber is lighter than steel with the same load-bearing capacity and is almost as pressure-resistant as concrete – all while being sustainable.
Wooden houses are incredibly durable and can last for over 500 years due to their solid panels. With good care, a wooden facade lasts just as long as a traditional facade.
